2jakes, I saw that AAA sign in the background and thought it was the Bat Signal. I was going to ask if this picture was taken in Gotham City.

I've put my staff on the trail to check it out!

Folks... you are looking at our favorite swimming pool when we
were kids. But with five sisters, I didn't stand a chance.

So the next best thing was running up and down the lawn
sprinkler.
My swimming trunks consisted of taking off my clothes down
to my "Fruit of the Looms" which was fine because it was in the backyard where no one could see.
But in high school gym period, everyone had to shower butt
naked in those long stalls.
That was the first time I felt uncomfortable in public. I was very shy
but somehow I managed. :(

I am a firm believer in the little things in life being the best.
My lovely lady has been such a good and caring nurse whilst I've been recovering from my hip operation. She text me from the shops the other day to ask if there was anything that I need. I jokingly text her that a taxi would be good. A taxi? she text back. Yes a taxi, (I'm not allowed to drive yet,) there's somebody very special on the other end of this phone that deserves an appreciation Christmas present. There was a long pause, so much so, that I thought that she must be getting on with the shopping, then just as I was forgetting about our texts, my phone buzzed. She quoted Kitty Kallen's song:

Blow me a kiss from across the room
Say I look nice when I'm not
Touch my hair as you pass my chair
Little things mean a lot
Give me your arm as we cross the street
Call me at six on the dot
A line a day when you're far away
Little things mean a lot
Don't have to buy me diamonds and pearls
Champagne, sables or such
I never cared much for diamonds and pearls
'Cause honestly honey, they just cost money
Give me your hand when I've lost the way
Give me your shoulder to cry on
Whether the day is bright or grey
Give me your heart to rely on
Send me the warmth of a secret smile
To show me you haven't forgot
For always and ever, now and forever
Little things mean a lot.

How is her scalded foot healing? Is it causing her much discomfort?
It's still tender, but her quick reaction of putting it into a bowl of cold water saved her from nerve damage. As they said at the hospital: "Pain is good," perverse though that sounds, what was implied was that if you have pain then the sensors giving you that pain are not damaged. The dermis will eventually heal. Thanks for asking.
Sometimes I remind her about that injury, but she knows that I have an alternative agenda. I try to take her mind of my physio exercises, I tell you, she's like a drill sergeant when it comes to putting me through the mill.

She's a good woman, and you're fortunate that she chose to share her life with you. Not that I want to see you experience the discomfort associated with those exercises, mind you, but more that she knows they're necessary for a full recovery and she isn't going to let you get away with making excuses instead of progress.

Yes, Google is a big self-serving Web version of Standard Oil, but they still bring a smile to my face when they do things like this for the Winter Solstice. My favorite part is when he skates across the ice:
