I reckon I've posted this photo somewhere on this forum before, and it is my avatar, but here is a photo from last year's Independence Day parade. One of my rare more photogenic moments, though I figure it's the horse and mountains more than me that makes the photo.

I believe your image is also part of
what makes this photo outstanding!

My "best looking" photo is probably this one, from my cousin's junior high graduation a few years back:

But I love this one from the Chicago March for Science:

This photo drew one of my favourite complimentary insults. I describe it as such because compliments and insults are poles apart, but when someone said I look like the "Fat Controller" from the children's television series: Thomas the Tank Engine, later redefined as "Sir Topham Hat," for politically correct purposes, (shame,) I wasn't at all insulted, in fact, I thought it a compliment. So much so, that not having a top hat, I took the fedora off and announced myself as: The Fat Controller at a fancy dress party a year or so ago.

It brought many a smile, but the winner by far was Tina, who with her talent at the sewing maching, conjured up an outfit that was instantly recognisable as that of Christina Aguilera's: Candyman.

What won it was when the tunic came off: Somehow I just don't think that I could upstage this:

Ask politely, and I might persuade her to take the tunic off.

I admire your no nonsense stance.

I would be careful to cast insults in person to you.

You look like someone that will tell it
like it is with no b.s.

Tina is adorable!

Thanks for sharing!

Your perception is very accurate. Being a manager in charge of a large workforce is not for everyone. But I not only enjoyed it, I thrived on it. It was having the ability to know what made people tick. Some you had to cajole, some you coaxed, others were more willing and some you simply had to be tough with, otherwise they would walk all over you. The latter were my favourites, I was always up for a verbal joust, a test of will and an assertion of my ability. I wasn't always right, but I was always the manager.

5 years ago after 21 years of marriage I got divorced so instead of being negative and turning to destructive behavior I started running. At the age of 47 I went from never exercising to joining Planet Fitness and running 5k and 10k races (most distance I've run was 9 miles) I no longer run as much or as far now but for 2 years I ran all the time and lost a lot of weight.
I'm now about to turn 53 so my knees don't want to run more than 2 miles but the weight is still off as I learned how to eat healthy and exercising as much as I can. But I ran four 10k races all under 55 minutes which is pretty good for a late starter of doing such a thing. I don't consider this the very best Image of myself but the very best of me.

(part of the 10k is running this 2 mile bridge!) I did this run two years in a row both times under 55 minutes. rather proud of that. :)
