I remember thinking when that happened that Chaplin himself would have thought the whole thing hilarious, and would have turned it into an excellent two-reeler. "The Grave-Robbers."

Has anyone else seen the fictional account of the making of Nosferatu, with DaFoe as an actual vampire playing the part? Very funny, but very creepy.

I saw the original in High School and have seen it many times since. The first time I was scared REALLY scared of a vampire EVER. When he spring boards up right out of that coffin! Sheeya! I musta jumped a foot. And when you see him circling the Captain lashed to the mast against some hitherto unseen terror... THAT my friend is movie making!!!!! I was never scared of a vampire again till George Romero's T.V. version of "Salem's Lot". His vampire was equally scary and looked about the same, but it was the child vampires... the everyday neighbor vampires that scared the bejeebus out of me. Danny Glick floating up to that second story window... I'm gettin' chills right now.
