Eight years ago I was looking online for an A2 to be my one and only jacket, then I stumbled with TFL and now there’s twelve leather jackets in my closet... sigh...

Jeeze Superflous, where was this info early last fall! Woulda saved a bundle of cash. The flip side is I wouldn’t be the proud owner of 4 FREAKIN AWESOME jackets. You can put a price tag on cool. I have invoices to prove it. I drank the kool aid and enjoyed the trip. I have no regrets.

TFL has definitely 'enabled' me to buy more hats than I need. haha

This summer will set a new record for me - 4 hats, each one more than I usually pay for a hat.

But I'm not complaining.

I don’t regret the TFL Effect at all...err much.
My Wells Fargo retirement guy...not so much!
My Postal Delivery Guy...changed his cushy cake route, then retired early!
Then i switched from hats to jackets.
Stayin away from vehicles!!

I found this place recently after discovering Terry Mitchell on YouTube. It’s always nice to find like minded people sharing a passion for what they love. I’ve bought a few since I joined and I’m having fun. Everything in moderation right? Lol!

Even though you fellas likely drained my lifespan by 10 years, the Lounge has really made me re-consider what quality clothes are. It also greatly escalated my interest in vintage clothing and expressing it publicly, when I realized there was a dedicated community to golden era tailoring. Even though I've been caught sick with TFL, I enjoy networking with those who also have the bug!

Well said everyone. You get addicted to amazing jackets etc but you also get rewarded with knowledge about leather, makers and so on and meet some cool guys and fun characters here.

I remember back in 2004 when the movie Seabiscuit came out and I thought, "man I'd love to find a jacket like that." A while later a friend told me about this place and I learned about Lost Worlds and Aero. I ordered my Halfbelt and then Aero brought out more cool styles. And Norshor and Eastman and GW and Thedi and all these other companies came on my (our) radar and it's been like being a (broke) kud in a candy store ever since!

I discovered the Lounge three years ago when I was looking for neckties from the 40's when I had none. I joined last month now that I've gathered a small, but very nifty collection since last year, thanks to the helpful 600+ pages of examples shown here. An enormous wealth of information in one place, and it's still growing as we speak! The community has been very friendly and I'm grateful to meet others who appreciate Golden Era ties as works of art. Hopefully, this place will have me suited up in no time, and I'll be popping up on the other forums!

I had most all of my leather and denim jackets BEFORE discovering TFL. "Sick " ahead of time me !

I was known at work ( 125+ employees !) as " The leather jacket guy". Different one to work every day y'see !

That was by the "dolly birds" and Millennial guys that dominate the place ( I'm 60 next year !)

This is a rather accurate description of what happened to me after discovering TFL, although my descent into madness was maybe a little bit slower than usual. I already owned a small range of second hand and new leather jackets but felt that I wanted something in the next tier, so I spent a lot of time trying to find good information online, which is why I stumbled upon TFL.

I bought an Aero 30’s half belt after reading through hundreds of pages here, and was actually happy just having one quality jacket for a whole year. Then I went from lurking to posting. That’s when I went bat shit crazy. Don’t regret it, although my wallet and my partner probably do!

But I honestly think that I’m set for life now, maybe just a longer style winter jacket and perhaps a cafe racer and maybe a premier HWM... [emoji23]

Unfortunately I have tendency to go to extremes when I get excited about something, so I was very weak victim for TFL effect!

That’s me! I had some jackets but mostly HD with a Vanson thrown in there. I am clueless compared to most everyone here but can now appreciate the different brands and styles a bit more.

And I still don't ride.
