A little later than this tread but is a very interesting statement of the trends in hatting leading into the mid-60's through the early 70's. This image was run in 1964 and again in 1970 to illustrate the short brim trends for "wear in the city".

Pardon the glare of the plastic, I didn't want to take this ad out of the protective sleeve at work. But the very cool 1928 French ad came today. It is indeed dated 1928 at the top and is apparently a page from L'Illustration, a Parisian newspaper which ran from 1843-1944.


Now I need a frame!
