What?

The other day I was watching a movie on TCM, and we go to a commercial break. This commercial comes up for some sort of car dealership - a guy comes on screen, shouting: "an oh-six Ford Mustang for forty-nine-fifty" etc. etc.

He was wearing this really tacky turqoise-colored suit, and it had REVERSE peaked lapels. Inverted. Upside-down.

I, for one, have never even come close to seeing this.

Is this a major feat, or am I just a noob who doesn't know jack about suits yet?

Sort of cut more like a shirt collar, but on a jacket.
Some "slouch" jackets from the 50's had collars like that.
In "To Catch A Thief", some of the younger French policemen wear jackets like that, so it was a fairly international look, albeit a very casual one.

Here in Germany you can indentify 1970s suit very easy, because most of them had four button jackets with such collars.

In one word: UGLY!!!

Henrik
