I’ve come to accept the reality—too many A-2s in the collection. As much as I love the A-2 for its versatility (pairs perfectly with denim and wool trousers), this rare piece just isn’t getting the wear it deserves.
This is The Real McCoy’s MFG Type A-2 in Raw Sienna, a highly sought-after and hard-to-find model. Most retailers are completely sold out, especially in larger sizes.
I spent a long time tracking this one down. It features Shinki horsehide leather that’s surprisingly supple and soft, unlike the usual ultra-stiff feel you expect. The knits are in perfect condition in an olive green that pairs beautifully with similarly colored boots (Shinki Olive boots, Vibergs, etc.). The lining is light brown cotton, clean and intact.
Only worn 5 times and always kept in a clean, pet-free, smoke-free environment. There are slight rubs on the sleeve edges, likely from closet storage, but otherwise in near-new condition. The Talon zipper functions flawlessly.
The leather appears to have darkened slightly over the last two years, which I believe is part of the natural evolution of the Raw Sienna finish.
