Josh, are you sure that's the same hat? :D

Beautiful redo, along with your "30's" lid in the conversion thread. You could have a side job, you know . . .

Thanks Randall!! When I first bought the hat off ebay, the seller said the circumference was 20 inches and that the hat was green. It didn't look green in the pictures, but I didn't mind if it was or wasn't. I was VERY doubtful that the hat was 20 inches in circumference and when I popped it on my head it fit perfectly. Its actually a size 7 that measures 22 inches in circumference. The flash makes the hat seem greener than it really is. In real life its a very dark green, but the binding still appears lighter.

As far as a side job...I dunno...I need a TON of hatters tools first. I think it would be fun. Down the road I would love to open my own custom hat shop.

If you haven't read any of Joseph Campbell's writing, I recommend it. One of his central messages is to "follow your bliss." At your age, with your passion and nascent talent, the advice is meaningful.

I picked up a Marathon at the local Goodwill, excellent condition including the box, for 2.87. It would have been more but I got 10% off for being a senior citizen.

Randooch, Thanks...I thought I might have over paid....especially considering the original price was 10.00. This is my first "real" hat. I bought an Indy fedora, it is ok and serves the purpose, but do want to get some more "real" fedoras. Got my First "big boy hat"(the Indy fedora), and first "big boy coat" (a nice Bradley Jons trench) this past month. I am 64. I have purchased a couple of Burberrys off eBay. One has arrived and am having it dry cleaned. The other is on its way and will need dry cleaning. I have learned lots from you guys here. Thanks for teaching me. Will have to post the coats on the other thread.
