Bump with additional moustache goodness because all this inspiration is firing me up for my moustache attempt!

On an unrelated note, I see once again the shawl lapel waistcoat paired with peaked lapel frock coat in evidence in the painting of Robert de Montesquiou. I'm getting very excited to finally receive my new suit! :D

Well then, if it is inspiration you're after I think I can offer up a few more ideas of moustaches that will inspire. Thus.

To start off with, John Wayne in Rio Grande as Lt. Col. Kirby York.

Always felt he looked best in these Cavalry roles. The moustache seemed to frame his face well.

Of course I revisit Sam Elliott as he does have that epic freestyle cowboy moustache.

A big moustache like that lets you get away with wearing big hats too. Growth like that is to be envied and admired.

How are we doing on inspiration? Well, here are a few more from The Great War (WW1). Great Britain, France and the U.S.

And with a little levity on the subject, from Black Adder goes Forth. Stephen Fry & Rowan Atkinson.

G&T I hope that this has given you some additional inspiration for your moustache growth.

Ah fantastic, all of them! I hope it somehow manages to spur my upper lip on to folicular heights of majesty, because currently my moustache is being rather true to form - scraggly, patchy and pitiful looking. Of course it's only been 3 days since I officially began my attempt.

Well G&T, give it some time. It will go through its "ugly" stages, but be patient and resist the urge to trim it. Once some length appears you can start taming it to reduce the appearance of those wild hairs. Before you know it your cookie duster will be on point. Happy cultivating!

Cheers!

Keep on trying.

A moustache is something wonderful. Not only keeps your upper lip warm in the cold months of winter, it also doubles as a drinking filter (great for beer, but better for soup - you can even save some noodles for later), gives you something to twist when you're furious, and you can caress it when you're bored. It's like having a fluffy pet under your nose.

I can't understand why people keep sending powerpoints with kitties, instead of moustaches. Baffling, indeed.

Welcome Monsignore. That is one jim dandy hirsute appendage you have there.:eusa_clap Yes they are perfect soup strainers.;)

G&T, also for the first three months, hide all sharp objects and resist the urge to trim. Once you get past there you should be good to go.

Cheers!
