Seven men were murdered in the garage of the SMC Cartage Company that day and the crime officially remains unsolved to this day. The only witness to the actual crime to survive was a German Shepherd dog named "Highball." The pet of one of the victims, the dog was discovered by police, cowering beneath a truck and howling in fear.
