Thank you! That is a very handsome hat!

Sweet!!My “1960s or ‘70s” Mallory XV homburg arrived in good time and in even better shape. The crown is sooo soft and thin. It dry creases like a dream. First thing I did was to pop it on my head and a let out a grown: it’s just a little too small for me. Then as I was folding back the thin leather sweatband I found size reducers all around the hat behind the sweat! It’s still not quite as large as I would like, but it genuinely fits.

Got bad news for you, Brent. That Homburg isn't 60's or 70's, it's pre-Stetson. Your hat liner is now the 3rd such liner seen on the Lounge, behind mine and recently by Blare. My “1960s or ‘70s” Mallory XV homburg arrived in good time and in even better shape. My early Mallory bowler or Derby just arrived and it's not the complete wreck I anticipated. Since it has a Union label, I'm estimating it's date at about 1917 to 1921 for now.
Tongue and cheek makes a lot more sense! I was wondering how you could have slipped up on dating that hat! Thanks, Mike. My “1960s or ‘70” reference was a tongue in cheek reference to how the seller had it listed. I love old Mallorys and I’m always looking out for them. I think the early Stetson era hats can be just as nice, but it’s a bonus to find a pre-Stetson hat in my size.
Yes, I was meaning to go back and check or refresh my memory on that name change, and 1919 is the last year I see E A Mallory and Sons in advertisements.Very nice. When did the “and sons” drop off? Maybe Bill @buler will share some of his knowledge.

Brent, I believe it did happen sometime in 1919. I don't think I ever found an exact documented date. I have a Sept 1919 ad where the Mallory name (without E.A & Sons) appears. There are some 1919 ads (earlier in the year) that have the E. A. & Sons.

Fabulous MalloryMy new to me Mallory 15 came in the other day and it’s an awesome hat!
Cavanaugh edge, 2 3/8 in brim, very malleable felt with a great hand feel. Fits a bit small though to be fair I do need a haircut.
Thank you, it’s a really great hat!Fabulous Mallory
Wonderful Mallory XV, especially with all its patina.MALLORY FIFTEEN Duplex Edge
Plenty of wear and mileage on the Mallory but it’s the way I prefer them.
2 5/8” brim.

Ribbon and felt both have faded and developed their own unique patina and character. I like em like this.
