It cost me like $80, which wasn't too bad, but it's a very small size, so I'm stretching it to fit.I want one just like it!

This is a post 1946 Stetson takeover Mallory. Most likely later 1950s with the card stock size tag instead of fabric. Mallory was still making very good quality hats in this era.I'm keeping an eye out for hats for a young friend with a smaller head, and saw this. Mallory is not a brand in my wheelhouse, so any ideas on vintage here? Thanks in advance!

Kid says he wears a 6 & 5/8, Randy. Just looking to get him something not too costly, to set the hook.
Trying to figure vintage on this one, as well:

Thank you, Joe! Greatly appreciated.I would guess mid/late 60s possibly 70s
Greetings,
I am new to this forum and this is my first Mallory. I would like to know how old it is, what model, and what pliafelt means? The material is very soft and barely holds its shape. Pretty cool that whoever owned this before, one can tell they loved it.
Any information is appreciated.
Best regards,

I would like to know how old it is,
And a stunning start—congratulations! This tag makes it pretty easy to date as 1951-1953.

OPA & OPS Ceiling Price Tags
Many of us on the lounge have seen hats with OPA tags and some with OPS tags. I know there has been lengthy discussion on these tags, but there is no thread SPECIFICALLY dedicated to them. I did a search of "Ceiling Price" and there's only one thread which shows an example. In the Stetson...www.thefedoralounge.com

Wow—that’s a beauty! Hard to beat a good Mallory.Just picked this up locally. I'm assuming mid 50's or so. Very nice pliable felt. Has a few moth nibbles but I can live with them. That’s a beauty. Amazing felt.Posting to document this rare and super interesting hat—a Mallory Commander. I think I’ve only seen one other on the lounge.
Definitely 1940s in proportions and the original box had a layer of newspaper from 1948 inserted as a kind of dust shield. Unfortunately it didn’t keep the moths out and, even worse, the sweatband has dry rot and is crumbling.
Still, it is a thing of beauty. The felt is a lavender gray and very, very thin and soft. The only comparable felts I’ve come across have been in 1940s-50s high end Borsalinos. Felt so thin that I can shape the crown by hand effortlessly but putting the hat on my long-oval head torqued the brim into ridiculous shapes. I added some stiffener to the brim and ironed it to get a bit better. It still has a very 1940s swoop caused by a tight brim binding—I had to push a divot into the ride side to keep it from dropping low over my eyes for the photos. I’m going to see if I can get some wear out of it before the sweatband falls out but it would benefit from a reflanging as well as a new sweat so that all might have to happen sooner than later.
