About that sweater (ignoring any intentional or unintentional overtones or undertones) would any of the knitters here have an idea of the stitch pattern? I think it's wonderful, and would love to try to copy it.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share these images. I'm learning a great deal from them. In fact now I want to study up on Romania in the 1930s to get some context for these photos.

The fourth picture from the bottom, the lady on the far right, actually looks very much like some Romany gypsies I met when I was in Eastern Europe years ago. Very interesting. So I suppose there's no additional documentation to identify the sitters?
