There's some good movies on there. Naked Spur and Spirit were both excellent in my opinion. The rest were very enjoyable also but I agree with a title of Signature Collection I'd expect something more. At least it doesn't have Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation.

Great selection. I appreciate older actors who make good films. Flight of the Phonenix is one of them! I like this movie a lot.

I saw this thread a couple of days ago and was going to mention Flight of the Phoenix's omission and just ran out of time! Great minds think alike...

Jimmy Stewart made so many great movies. Vertigo is another favorite of mine.

I just read a really wonderful book about his wartime experiences called, "Jimmy Stewrt- Bomber Pilot" and highly recommend it to any Stewart fans in the audience. His wartime career as a combat pilot and leader was far more impressive than I ever realized.

The movies in the set are available individually, which is great because The FBI Story is a movie I've been dying to get on DVD! Still waiting for my order from Amazon. Now if they'd only release Strategic Air Command!

That book has been on my "to get" list for a long time. I have so many books to read in the queue and should bump Stewart's book to the top.

Mine as well, must list, Flight of the Phoenix's has always been a favorite due to him being a bomber pilot in WWII and Stewart always thought he was too young to play Elwood P. Dowd in Harvey, it has alot of madcap fun.

That collection is really just a tip of the iceberg...Stewart made so many movies that collecting all of them would be a huge task. But in this thread, many of his best have been named.

BTW - if there is a James Stewart in Hollywood today, I think it's Tom Hanks. I have mentioned this to a number of my friends.

To me, Hanks is the one actor who can be the "everyman" character in just about film. He is likeable, his looks and stature fit into almost any role, and he manages to find the key elements of the character and disappear into them.

Any agreement or discussion about that?
