Franz Richter & Söhne, Dresden, "Küssnacht" "Tell", 57 cm, Wool possibly 1930s. This Soft Felt was most likely sourced and could have been made by one of the German Hat Factories (located in what became East Germany post WWII) that produced Wool Soft and Stiff Felt hats up to WWII. The Liner is extremally light weight so very delicate. I found this Wool Soft Felt back in March 2023.

Very cool find, Steve and a nice looking hat to boot. I like the way the brim is done on that one.

Super! It's a prime example of the European pre-war wool upbrims. Thanks for posting it here, Steve

Società Anonima Cappellificio Monzese, 58.5cm, Wool, possibly later 1950s. I found this Wool Soft Felt back in 2018 and at the time I couldn't find anything on "Società Anonima Cappellificio Monzese" but now I do see the name listed in a Google Book search but most results are Snippets. The only ones with any detail (non Snippets) are shareholder meeting results 1940 back to early 1900s so still a mystery.

Stefan, Thank you! I agree about the brim curl. I am also surprised the Liner survived considering the delicateness of the material.
Fantastic hat, Steve! The 'delicate' liner - not only this - reminds me of the 'Colonia' hat, I think Panos ownes now:

And 3.: black "Colonia" (= Köln City) made of a lovely wool felt with back bow.
This is an unknown (to me) brand we don't know anything about it - except:
The paper and size label is the same as on J.A.Seidl so probably the same (unknown) source,
which apparently made wonderful wool felt hats of really good, if not excellent, quality.

How did I miss this? Great find and in good shape too. I like the contrasting brim binding.

Cambiaghi woolfelt in a colour that's all over the place depending on the lighting. Brown, grey or (heaven forbid) green? Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 5,8 cm and the crown at 9cm. Crown is creased in between a porkpie and a telescope. More a wider brimmed porkpie. It has a very nice sharkgill bow and the hat as a whole works. At 120 grams not bad for a woolfelt. Has a nicely detailed liner as well.

Nice find, Stefan! Looks like a later one, when did Cambiaghi go out of business?

Wonderful find, Matt. I particularly love the wide ribbon and bow treatment.

Your wife certainly knows quality when she sees it.
