Dang! This is a great thread! I've bought two Akubras from The Hattery (Stylemaster and Stingy Brim), and always wanted to see the store in person. I'd love to be able to try on Akubras before buying them. I do have to say that they two Akubras I bought from them were two of the best decisions I've made when it comes to buying hats online before trying them. The Stylemaster is one of my go to fedoras, and I like the Stingy Brim for more casual outings.

I tried on several styles and at the suggestion of Jenny and Trudi I bought the "Fedora" because they stated that it was a durable hat and would withstand the rigors of travel. Well I packed it in my suitcase, knowing it would get "handled" and simply trusted their word. Upon unpacking I steamed it out, as the crown is very pliable, bashed (without steam), popped it on my head and I am good to go!!!

If I were going to purchase via on line I would have bought the "Traveller" and would have regretted it. I communicated as much to the Hattery and was told the "Fedora" is a popular style. So there is something to be said for purchasing in person.
