New brewery in Colorado that has some really tasty beers I really like. Big Choice Brewing is a newer brewery (just about one year old in May) and offers some different but delicious brews to choose from. A Poblano Stout, a hoppy Red Ale, and a surprisingly smooth Double IPA (among others and seasonals). If any of you are in the Denver/Boulder area, check them out. They are located in Broomfield. How's the fruit trees? I didn't get any grapefruits in the mail for my Salty Coyotes...

Salty Coyotes? Sounds like a type of poison. :rofl:

The fruit trees are doing good this year. The lime might even give a few limes this year. :p The Shinseki pear is loaded. Unfortunately the nasty grapefruit trees are loaded too. I wonder how they do it when I don't feed them or even water them more than they get from rain. :huh:

Such nonsense; beer doesn't expire. It just... grows new flavors.


Take a bottle of Miller in the clear bottle leave it in the sun for a day. Then chill and drink -you find that lighter beer is simply delicate and does expire. Full flavored heavy brews often can and do improve with age. Usually those at the highest ends can become very nice. At the lowest ends their flavors are so insubstantial that time damages beyond being worth any consideration. (Pretty much not worth considering to begin with but there is no accounting for personal taste.

Also tenderized beef. It is interesting to see a side of USDA Choice hanging in a meat locker, all covered with "fur".

The recent comments on aging and mold really can be taken as I hope they are intended (meaning a result from careful, planned aging under proper conditions) or they can be read as meaning things are still good when taken too far. I like aged beers and wines but not skunky beer or wine that has turned to vinegar (as a drink), and aplthough I will enjoy some cheeses that are aged until they crumble but a cheese that is not properly salted will rot.
Age can do great things, I age homemade beer up to about a year and wines for five or more years at times. I have seen them go bad much sooner as well.
