Purchased these black chromexcel boots from self edge and wore them no more than 3 hours total. I believe these are made by John Lofgren for The Flat Head. Really nice boots but just too big for me. They run 1 size larger than Brannock size and 1/2 bigger than Wesco, Whites, and Chippewa. They are also fit like an E width. I have a wide flat foot “10e on Brannock” so there is too much room in the Instep and heel for me. I also added one hole to the instep strap to see if it would help to no avail.

Man, this is tempting. I’m a 10.5e in the Alden Barrie last. I tried lofgren engineers in 10.5 and they were a little too snug for me. In my heart of hearts i believe these will be too snug but I’m a gamblin’ man who wants to risk it all.

I made 8oz leather insoles and they fit me a lot better with them in, but my 9.5e Wesco 7500 still fit a lot better. It seams like the flat head boots have a wider/more sculpted heel with a higher instep. They will probably fit a 10.5d, 10.5ee, and 11d on a Brannock. Maybe an 11e if you have a low instep. The chromexcel leather does seem to stretch more than other traditional “boot” leathers.

I should have returned these and just ate the shipping fee, but since these were my first engineer boots, I wasn’t sure how they we’re supposed to fit until I got the Wescos.

Would you be able to measure the insole width for me? Length sounds good but might still be a bit narrow at the widest point.

also if you had a side profiling of the heel that would be awesome.

I’ve resisted the temptation to buy a black leather jacket because i don’t own any black leather footwear. I may be in a lot of trouble with my wife soon!
