The Fedora Store has recently changed hands. I bought 4 nice Beaver Brand hats from the old owner and was quite satisfied. Can't speak for the new owners.
I cancelled the order and will be billed a $9.00 restocking fee.
They charged you a restocking fee for something they didn't have in stock to begin with? What were they restocking?
Not impressed at all with the Fedora Store. I placed and order on 2/22/2012. Their website and email
invoice said that my credit card would not be charge until the hat shipped. My credit car was charged
that day so I assume it had been shipped with 3-5 days UPS at $9.87. As of today I have not received
it so I called. CSR said that it had to be manufactured first (even though the web site said it is in stock)
which would take 6-8 weeks and then it would be 3-5 days shipping and she said that the website saying
my card would not be charged until the hat shipped was an error or their part on the website which has not
been corrected. I cancelled the order and will be billed a $9.00 restocking fee. But they did apoligize.Won't
order from them again.
+1....If it were me, I would call and raise hell until they canceled that re-stocking fee. I'm with felkor, charging a restocking fee on an item that they didn't have in stock is ridiculous.
Try calling them. But if that doesn't work then call your credit card company. Contest the restocking fee and let them know what happened. I'd contact them back, demand the restocking fee, tell them their "business ethics" on the internet can make or break them, there should be no fee's for something they don't have in stock, period.
I got a positive response this morning and the issue has been resolved.
