If I weren't saving up for Vegas and the next QM event I would look into doing it.. We'll see what happens tomorrow when I win the Powerball lol

oh yeah and I forgot to mention earlier.. I would DEFINITELY wear the FL Man cufflinks he's so sexy lol.

:eek:fftopic: Is it wrong that I have more cufflinks than my S.O?

A suggestion:
How about cutting out the fedora man.
(In order NOT to have a boring round shape of pin)

With the words: Fedora Lounge in small letters
(same typhography as now - is it "Broadway"?)
in the curve at the bottom.

A nice black/grey/white/warm yellow pin.

Just my 2c:)
PS If I were on my mac I could have done it - but not on this PC.

The guy in the hat has got style! I say, use that.

Don't know whether or how to incorporate the phrase "The Fedora Lounge" in that nifty art deco font...

I wouldn't use the text. The idea of a logo is it's a symbol or icon that people are going to instantly recognize without having to be told what it is. It's something to catch the eye and convey the name without words. It catches someone's eye and they'll ask what it is if they don't know.

Many companies are getting away from them (Mobil's pegasus, Shell's scallop shell) and going to a more bland, middle of the road simply font with some color and a one-word name as their logos, which I think makes none of them stand out anymore.

But remember, too, it's MK's trademark and his call on when, where and how it's used.

The suggestions are all good.
If we get the "o.k." from the boss, who is willing to spearhead this project?
I have seen many great ideas flounder due to lack of someone, anyone taking the lead.

Perhaps its worth waiting until you get the ok. Picking someone to spearhead something that would most likely actually be handled and managed by the boss, if it were to happen...seems a bit premature.

I like the idea, although it seems fairly superfluous as a means of indentifying other Loungers.

You're right. It's a great idea, but it's not like most of the folks here at the lounge would vanish in a crowd, at least not in the eyes of fellow Loungers. Still, it would be neat to wear when "incognito". . .

I hope this happens! It's a very neat idea. I always see people around L.A. that have such excellent vintage style and it always leaves me wondering if they are Loungers! Maybe this will help me identify them!

Gotta love secret societies! Especially when the members are so well-dressed. ;)

You're totally right. But it's just great to know that there are a lot of people that are enthusiastic about the idea.

I like the idea of the logo that we have for the lounge with out the Fedora Lounge being place on it. The logo has a mysterious look to it since you can not truly see the mans face. I want the pin and the cuff links and maybe even a tie bar.

Name or no name...

At lot of talk about name or no name on the pin.

I believe that even with the name Fedora Lounge it will still be a mystery to many. "Fedora....What lounge???"
It will strike up conversation.
If there is no name on the pin (and I am only talking pin here) it might just be any other decorative brooch. So what?

There are two reasons (at least :) ) for wearing this pin:
- The brotherhood and getting to know your fellow lounger in the crowd.
- Advertisig the lounge.

So I strongly recommend the name on the pin.

Tiebars and cuff links is another story - and ought not to have name.
Just my 2c
Thank you for your attention;)

Awwww... I´d love that! Imagine you walk around and see someone with the pin and you go to that person and say "Hi I´m *insertnamehere*." and the ice is broken and realise that this person might even knew your name from the lounge without realising that it´s YOU!

We are a bigger community than one suspects and it has happened more than once that I met someone, got into talking and than realised that someone is in the same forums. lol

I'd like to see a symbol instead of text. I think that it would be a good conversation starter.

Just my 2 cents worth...I usually get change back.

I think both Classic Style and The Fedora Lounge need an iconic, non lettered picture of some kind. Use both for the same ventures, as a cross over thing, or two logos that fuse together and compliment each other.

I also think icons for each forum would be grand. One for Radio and the Powder Room and the Observation bar... how cute, er cool would that be?

Must..stop...creating designs....in head.....
