While wearing the OR that you see in my avatar I had a guy say "You look like a G-Man." I had the brim down.
(For those who dont know, G-Man was slang for "Governmant Man" meaning an FBI man.)
He wasnt being derogatory.
So I thanked him and went on.

I'd take that as a compliment too. Hey, the G Men might have been scary guys, but they knew how to dress!

It has a bow! It's a woman's hat.

:eusa_doh: Had a co-worker tell me that today. I was wearing my Panama Montecristi with the brown band.

I explained even with the bow, she couldn't pull off wearing the hat. Had another co-worker laugh and tell her I was right- she couldn't pull it off, she was too manly, it does have a bow on it you know.:eusa_clap :eusa_clap

You should have asked her if they knew over at Cherry Hospital that she was missing. ;) (Inside joke)

Cherry Hospital is one of NC's four state psychiatric hospitals and is located in Goldsboro. I noticed that geckoheaert was from Goldsboro, and thought if he saw the reference to Cherry Hospital he'd make the connection. [huh]

Oh, I knew what you referring to. ;)
It just sounds better with Cherry short one pit than Cherry short one nut. :p

Maybe I'm slow, but I'm still trying to figure out what Kevin Popejoy
meant by

"one of those belly shirts with kind of a muffin top thing going."

Uh... what's a muffin top?

Was in a car accident yesterday and the investigating State Trooper told me he liked my hat!

Is that where the picture in your avatar came from?;)

But seriously, I hope you weren't injured.

Yesterday I wore my Adam straw hat, with a hawaiian print shirt and black and white loafers to work. A guy said I looked like Hannibal Lecter.

The scene he was referring to I believe is closer to the end of the film and contains the line;

"I'm having a friend over for dinner."

Well, I've been wearing my fedoras for a few weeks now, and still haven't heard any REAL insults or dumb remarks, though I have gotten scads of compliments and a few curious stares/raised eyebrows.

Until today.

At my job, part of our responsibility is to goof off both with customers and between each other. Naturally, this leads to a lot of good-natured ribbing and joking. Today one of those such sessions turned into an exchange of joking "insults" and creative name-calling. Myself and a co-worker were having a pretty funny exchange about his taste in music when he came up with what might have been the funniest comment I'd heard so far:

Trendiana Jones.

Had it come from someone else, or in an angry manner I'd have been tempted to get upset, but under the circumstances I couldn't help but absolutely double over in laughter!

I get Elliot Ness once in a while here at work. But being a police lieutenant who wears a fedora and suit I can understand it. Like H/Jones I consider it a compliment.
that sure beats being called JOE FRIDAY [since most will not remember the TV show, but think of the movie with Dan Dan Aykroyd :D
