Going through boxes looking for different felts and this turned up. I remember buying it some time ago but forgot about it.

That certainly is a nice one. Love the feeling of coming across a discovering a hat for the second time. Give it another 40 years and you have that feeling with every hat you own

Dobbs Sulgrave homburg in saber (gray). It’s a small proportioned hat , but I’d swear by the feel the felt was early 1950s or older though I know it’s much more recent.

I like everything about that hat except the size; too big for me even if you were willing to part with it Brent. If it looks half as good on you as I think it does, you've found another keeper!

Thank you, both. It’s a revelation that Dobbs was making this quality of felt as recent as I think this hat is. I do wish it had a taller crown and a wider brim, but that has more to do with my weight gain of the past few years…might need to do something about that.

A classic looking homburg with those colours, Brnet. And I agree that a tall crown and wider brim usually work better for a homburg.
