The chronicle of my A-2s

I think the point raised by Fifty150 has been around here quite some time - some want to look as stylish and fashinable as they wish wearing the A-2s, and some argue hey it's supposed to be more of an army issue fatigue that you have to fit yourself into, not the other way around. Well, If I had to wear an issue A-2 during my service in the army I would have definitely chosen free of movement over stylish fit, just like I was issued a medium-regular field jacket and had no problem with it at all, while my best fitted size for proper 'military look' is small-short.

But I am not getting issued these freaking expensive jackets here, nor intended to wear it in a cockpit as a functional garment. Although I don't personally agree with the tight-as-duck's-arse Japanese fit, I don't know what's wrong about wishing to look stylish and well-fitted wearing A-2s, maybe as in a handful of WW2 photos (but I haven't consulted them seriously when choosing A-2s).

Yeah, color me in between on the fit crowds. Too tight - no thanks. Too ballooned - no thanks. I've finally found the middle ground, and it's great. If you're paying for a repro, it should be fairly accurate. if all you want is the look, then those are two different things. No doubt the obsession over fit is a modern luxury servicemen had none of.
The only item I really do care about perfect fit for are boots/shoes. That's purely due to pain

I agree. Same goes for pants. No way am I squeezing into pants that are too small either.
