My new 1930s British cap. The label states Mackenzie Tweed, but this isn't tweed, it's a boiled wool. Style is "The Strathmore". It's somewhat different in style to my other black British cap. This one features a band around the rear of the cap that narrows to nothing at the back of the bill. There is a non-functional belt at the front and a decorative button at each belt terminus. The snap is of a relatively uncommon type, though I've seen them before. Size label indicates UK 7 1/8, though I can wear it as most of the excess size is at the temples. (Caps are easier to wear than fedoras when the size is too big, though the crowns do sadly start to look a bit clownish.)

Gents, what BK's photos don't show is just how good this cap looks when it is worn. The sturdiness of the construction means it stands up beautifully, unlike so many caps that drape over the ears. it really is a good one.

Looks good Flat-top.

Thanks Keith. I really do love that fabric.
Maybe when the weather cools again I will develop a need for something similar. As for now, straw hat weather is in full effect here - no more wool for a while.
