Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I think you guys will know more about flat caps than anyone else on FL. Looking back at the history of these caps we wear, and looking at historical pictures of guys wearing them (say for instance, those pics of the workers building the Empire State Building), what percentage of those caps (at a guess) had leather sweatbands? Were they rare, or were they so common that it'd be odd for them to not have a leather sweat?

I can't speak for the US, but from what I've seen, leather bands in UK caps don't appear to be that common even in vintage caps.
