That really is a fantastic collection of melones there. That low crown silk plush one is just out of this world, and the grey one with the sharks gill ribbon as well.

Heres the sweat of the newest brown bowler a few posts up. This was a pretty awesome score, it's a 30/40's era judging on the crown height and quality of materials, and appeared to be unworn. Unfortunately the liner does appear to be missing so no info on who the maker of this fine bowler is.

One of the last row, low crown silk plush, is very close to ancient hat (until sixties) of some Catholic priests
The cord as ribbon is the signal of a religious hat IMO
By the way it is really amazing.

P. & C. Habig Wien - Berlin "Special Qualität" with "Auto Cape", size 58cm, very good condition, 208 grams, probably mid 1930s. The hat has an very unique inner gray felt shell. The felt shell might be removable but I am not going to take a chance trying to remove it. The felt shell adds extra weight but the hat is still very comfortable to wear. I guess "Auto Cape" could be related to the felt shell. There is a patent number (Austrian or German?) that might lead to something.

Super find! The finish creates a really interesting effect. Do you have any idea on the felt content? Thanks regarding the P. & C. Habig!

Alan, Thanks!

Tommy, Thanks! I am not really sure the reason for the felt liner (warmth?). I thought it might be removable but the ribbon / bow is stitched through it. I will have to see if I can find out anything.
