Years ago I used to post on a guitar forum where bitter guys who couldn't make a living on their original music would sneer viciously at covers bands and basically imply that unless you wrote a song you performed you were no better than a jukebox. Always sounded to me like the argument of people who didn't see any value in live performance, which is rather a shame. Different skillsets, of course. I mean, Paul Anka deserves all the credit he gets for writing the lyrics to My Way, but would we know the number at all now without the iconic interpretations by Sinatra, Presley, Vicious - none of them songwriters?
Yes, i recall that same opinion when i think back to that era.
Not all musicians were writers, not all writers were musicians. We would certainly be missing much music had that paradigm been required.
Being just a listener we were not to sophisticated, just loaded and trying to get laid.

Yep. Would George Strait be who he is without Dean Dillon?

Not much changes as time goes by, except we’re hopefully not getting loaded.

Yeah, Vicious was entertaining in his own, odd way (quite a tragic case, really), but Matlock was the original bassist...I think how I'd put it best is that Matlock was like a combination of Stu Sutcliffe and Lennon, while Vicious was like a Yoko Ono who actually joined the band when he quit. (An ironic comparison, given that after Matlock quit, Talcy Malcy immediately issued a press release stating the band had thrown him out "for liking the Beatles".)
See, I was never really interested in the punk scene except for liking some songs here and there produced by various groups. My sum knowledge about the Pistols is/was that Lydon was (for the most part) the front man, Vicious was the circus act who died young, some guy named Jonesy played guitar, and someone else played drums. I clearly didn't know Sid wasn't the original bassist. *shrug*

How is your loading speed?
Depends on the time of day. Right now it was fast. No lag at all. Other times it's a little slower. But I have that with google chrome too when I visit other sites. I think I have other issues that involves an older router and this crappy android ios 10 I upgraded to.

In any event, I m having no ads whatsoever popping up with duck and navigating FL is stable and much easier.

Interesting that I'm only just now seeing ads. But, they're tolerable.
When all the griping started the ads were much worse. I can see why some folks may have left. Hopefully they'll start to filter back as the ads aren't as bad as they were. I think they're worse than they were before the provider switch, but better now than it was when the switch occured.

Definitely give it another try. It's working perfect for me and JAHR says his is doing good too. I'm not seeing any ads whatsoever and the site navigates so easy. So yeah, give it another shot.
Yep. No ads whatsoever. Load times can vary, but like you said, it was like that on Chrome as well. There are things about Chrome that I miss, but I try to use Duck when I can.

It routinely takes a loooooong time for TFL pages to load.

I like vinyl. There's probably 4000 LPs just off camera here and same amount boxed up elsewhere.
I can do digital upstairs but not here.
and We're Only In It was the first Zappa record I heard and it scared the s^*t out of me.
Still easily one of my favorites and as relevant as ever.

Thank you man! A friend got me into tube audio and big horns years ago so I've been horse trading this junk for awhile.

Meanwhile .. ads are basically as obnoxious here as they've been since beginning. I'm always reluctant to add applications to this (now) older Mac so haven't gone ad blocker route. Guess I'm hoping something will be tweaked on TFL end.

For sites like this where ads are intrusive Duck does a good job and the site becomes much better to navigate with no ads. But, I'll use Chrome for other sites that doesn't have those same issues.
