That's New England National Dress.
The approach of the first day of pitchers and catchers is quite literally the only thing that keeps us going thru the long New England winters. The day the equipment truck leaves Fenway Park for Florida in early February is actually a celebrated holiday. Truck Day is the only day in the year when everybody in New England is in a good mood.
Save for the many, many of us who simply do not give a frig.
I don't know. I think that "T-dances" are still popular among some groups. Now, the "Thé Dansant" is perhaps lost to the mists of history. What about tea dances? Anyone that goes to tea dances probably goes to luncheons, too,,,.
Not hockey? Blasphemy!
Miss the old days when there were just the Six Teams (New York, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, and Boston). Now it seems as if 2/3 of the league is in the playoffs. At this point, the standings of the regular season become largely irrelevant.
Today I said to someone "you're driving me up the wall". They stopped dead in their tracks, having no idea what I meant.
That's the ticket!
Lost in translation...
Skedaddle.
Traipse.
Whoops - a - daisy.
"Schnaps" (liqueur/booze/hard liquor).
German youth does not more say "Schnaps", today. Maybe sometimes "Schnapsladen" for a crappy etablissement, but I believe not, in 2016.
