Having seen only a few references to Tattersall checks in the archives,i thought i might ask:Where can one buy said shirts without selling ones house or stocks??? Seems every time i find a decently made shirt,it costs a fortune. This is one item i have not been able to locate in thrift shoppes.
I have been a fan of tattersalls since "All Creatures Great and Small" introduced me to them.

Any ideas???

.

For Tattersall shirts I go to Barbour. Theirs aren't too dear. Also, LL Bean has some nice Tattersalls for less than $40 and they have a lot of sizes.

I wear them quite a bit. I match them with plaid ties that pick up the colors of the alternating blocks. They look marvelous beneath a tweed jacket.

Jim, attersall check shirts are de rigeur wear for many field (ie country) sports over here can be had for very little money. I wear them a lot. Some are more formal in appearance than others and range in quality and as they are so common they can be picked up very easily at many outfitters and most gun / equestrian / fishing / agricultural places and you are almost wading through the things at game fairs / shows in the summer. Obviously there are too many outlets to list here but to give you an idea take a look at:

Cudworth

John Norris

Country Clothing

Side by Side

William Powell

Cordings

That said and depending on what you are after if you drop me a pm, e-mail or pm via yahoo and I should be able to pick some up for you at my local suppliers.
