Tan leather gloves

I've been in the search for these things for quite a while now. They are nowhere to be found, and when searching on ebay, I can't find new nor vintage ones.

I see them a lot on vintage pictures and magazines. I'm pretty sure they're leather. Am I wrong? Are they suede?

I'm talking about the ones for men. Womens gloves are plenty.

Has anyone got these? Are there any on ebay or does someone a have a clue where one might find these. I'm just as OK with new ones as long as the price is right!

....and of course the style ;)

A photo would help as your description is rather vague. Same for price, one man's right is another man's ridiculous. ;)

Here are the pictures, snatched from other threads. Thank you Marc Chevalier.

My Grandfather...

...was a working man, but from the generation that knew how to dress up. One of his favorite items was a pair of tan pigskin gloves. He said he always felt dressed up when he wore them.

These are great gloves...although not DRESS gloves, traditionally speaking....

I have a pair of these in bronze that I use for driving. They're unlined and very thin but warm, and I think they claim that you could pick up a dime while wearing them, which I've found to be true.

They're also very attractive, and the leather's very supple. There's also a lined version if you're more interested in warmth than dexterity.

I'll second that. I've shot and hunted in these for years now, and they are just as supple as M'H has said...they are also available in actual SIZES, not just SML fits....some....so you can get a really proper "like a glove" fit.

But, it should be remarked...if you're looking for dress gloves, these aren't them; you'll notice how short they are. Nonetheless...they may do for your purposes and are an excellent product on their own merits.

I posted some pictures of my gloves (before and after) on a thread about hunting equipment; here's the post:

Good luck!

I've been on the hunt for those for years.
You want vintage chamois gloves, they come up on eBay now and then. A good maker is/was Dents of England.

See this thread for my search.

If your hands are very small, I have a pair for you.

Both of those look good!

Pigskin, kidskin or chamois. They all feel like fine choices.

I guess those Damascus gloves don't have a snap closure?

scotrace, what do you mean by small? I'm not sure of my glove size.. What size are your gloves?

These look extremely nice. Seems they're also my size!

Bugger, wish they were mine! :(

I have an identical pair but sans the tag, my grandfather got them in Europe after he was released by the Russians. They're pig-skin ironically enough but damn are they gorgeous! I just wish my hands fit better into them. I have humongous hands and long skinny fingers. It's a BITCH finding decent or vintage gloves that will fit and are not exorbitant...I've finally discovered the below site and the below gloves which I rather like (they fit gorgeously though without the fold-able backs which I usually like and are available in a number of "fast" colours. The site also stocks a huge variety of different types of gloves!

Wow those are a treat!

I think the pair I have are about a 7. Use a tape and measure all around your open hand at the knuckles (not including your thumb).

21cm, which is about 8,2 inches
