Just ordered another body so hopefully in the next few weeks I’ll have some more to share.
I always took that thread to be a place for mostly Western conversions, which i why I've never posted a project hat there. I enjoy rebuilding and bringing back to life hats that have seen better days, and I think a separate thread would be appropriate.
Tabletop Hatter's of the Lounge thread is where non-profeseional hatter's are posting what we are making. It is a relatively new thread. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/tabletop-hatters-of-the-lounge.96123/I want to see hats that You have worked on, made, adjusted and so on. I love seeing what People do to The hats They get. The colour combos and shapes and styles never cease to amaze Me
Thank You for letting Me know. My badTabletop Hatter's of the Lounge thread is where non-profeseional hatter's are posting what we are making. It is a relatively new thread. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/tabletop-hatters-of-the-lounge.96123/

I had an idea of a cigar in a hat band for a rum bootlegger. This is Kaiyalethe Crowns' RumRunner 100% fur felt dress hat with a never-seen-before cigar holder on the band. The custom tooled leather band was created by my friend and is detailed with a map to the rum stash as well as two burn patches to prevent the cigar from burning the felt. The hat is finished off with a natural raw leather sweat band and a Dia De Los Muertos headliner.

What a compliment! Thank you my friend! I do plan to sell some on the side once I get some more blocks! With the rabbit felt and tooled leather band it would be in the $250-$500 range. I just dont get any wholesale deals to do it for less. This, is by far, the most awesome hat I have ever seen on this site.
How much would a hat like this cost?
It's very well deserved, That's one awesome hat! What a compliment! Thank you my friend! I do plan to sell some on the side once I get some more blocks! With the rabbit felt and tooled leather band it would be in the $250-$500 range. I just dont get any wholesale deals to do it for less.

Awesome! I have had my eye out for a more round than oval block where i can do a telescope crown! I will let you know. That would def be awesome! It's very well deserved, That's one awesome hat!
If you ever get a telescope block in and decide to make one with a 3.5" brim telescoped...my credit card awaits.

So i'll be honest. I never really ever considered wearing a western/cowboy hat. Windchill in MN tonight will be colder than -50F and I was raised in the city, so it never crossed my mind. My pops came to the USA in 1969, and like all the rest of the immigrants of the time, he enjoyed all the popular cowboy movies. One of his friends, a trucker, had route out West so my dad asked him to pick up a cowboy hat. Forward many years and my old man found the beat up old hat and asked if I could restore it. I tried, but its a very thin felt so couldnt pounce out the stains or pitting, and the crease marks were slightly visible even after blocking. So i decided to at least attempt to bring it back to life. Restore would be the wrong word since it is damaged even more now, but this is the first cowboy hat I can say I really like . . . but maybe thats the elbow grease talking.
