Wow, Marc, really? Gods? I saw this suit earlier today, you know, at that place. No doubt foreign, yes, probably European. I don't dig it at all. Lacks sauve, finesse, debonair. It's just too odd. Lapels are odd, buttons are odd, well, the whole thing's just odd.

I respect your opinion. Personally, I find it a definitive example of early 1930s men's suit design: perfectly smooth and streamlined, with no extra drape (back and trouser pleats excepted) and virtually no padding to break and extend the line. If early European Art Deco could be personified in a man's suit, it would look like this one IMO.

Wow ... and to think that a similarly cut, equally small suit (though black and double-breasted) went for over $820 last December. Sheesh. I feel bad for the seller of this one. :(

.

I think that the black db was much nicer though, better condition and in my eyes better styling. This suit was a bit more of an oddball with that peach-ish flannel and European styling, but nice none the less.

Man, that black suit(stares off into space....)

I do have a suit in blue that you saw at the SM Expo that is very similar, but still!

Eye of the beholder (wasn't that a Twilight Zone episode?) I suppose. I think $372 is pretty darn good. I sold a pair of pants that were virtually identical to these, just a better color, about 10 years ago. I could barely give 'em away.

Bummer. I like to see that stuff stay here. The really primo stuff that is. I always list worldwide and often get more money outside of the states (the falling dollar certainly doesn't help) but, it pains me to send it.

Yeah, that's about right. A couple years ago, I did sell some belt-back stuff and other things to a fella in Texas. That was a nice change. LOL.

Nope ... it went to Osaka, as J.J. Gittes said.

Over the past five years, nearly all of my best vintage '30s suits have gone to Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, France and the UK.
