Straw Boater Repair

Hello to all, I have a pre-WWII straw boater which has suffered cracking from pressure due to improper storage. The straw is dry and inflexible, appears prone to cracking and chipping. By moistening with a hot damp towel and then applying vertical pressure until dry, I managed to repair a crack in the brim (see first picture). However I cannot find a way of doing the same for a crack on the crown side and top (see 2nd & 3rd pictures). Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Dean

A nice boater, Bro, but no longer suitable for wearing in a dressy situation. The sentimental value is significant, though. I would keep it in a glass case.
