I suppose usually they are leather. But this denim is kinda stout too…18oz samurai sakura. Very cool piece. Been at it a month after picking it up early summer. And now wearing this every day (except the midday sweltering heat), and it being summer here at the coast of Los Angeles I had to give it a quick hand wash and a rinse to deal with perspiration buildup in the fabric.
After it dried on a wide hanger in the garage I set it down a viola it became like new horsehide. Kid thinks I’m nuts He says wearing that is a cross between cardboard and sandpaper. That’s what it felt like the first week anyhow, but it is starting to yield a bit and soften up.
