Stetson's Numbers

I've seen the Stetson Open Roads with no number, the number twenty five and the number one hundred (spelled out). I'm guessing this pertains to the quality of the hat, maybe the amount of beaver in the felt. Am I right?...KC

I still own 2 Stetson 150 hats. In gold on band is printed/embossed:

In the old days...

The number connoted the cost and was a general, though relative by brand, indicator of quality. In more modern hats, it means little.
