Nice Stetson Whippet (newer) in 7 3/8. Brim is 2 3/8.
Hat is in excellent condition. Color is a tawny brown. Felt is very nice . This would make a great no fuss travel hat.

Fits my head of same size beautifully
All original. I cleaned it up and bashed it .
To be fair to all interested buyers the first person to write in this thread " I ll take it " gets the hat.

Rick, the current production Whippet looks like this:

I don't recall seeing a thin ribbon version before. Bond's hat seems to be from the late 60's or 70's.

Me too neither, thus the interrogative.

The 2 3/8" brim is consistent with the modern production model, however, is it not?

I have seen the liner somewhere tho'...damned if I can recall where! [huh]

There is a id label under liner I can post pic in morning . Don't really have any other info on this one as its the first like it I've come across.

This is an interesting hat. I have never seen that liner or sweatband before on a Stetson. Could it be a Canadian Stetson?

Here is liner tag info. Although it indicates on tag a 2 1/4 brim in actuality it is more like 2 3/8. It also indicates its a 7x

I wonder if there is any correlation between the hat & this box w/ similar graphics? Although of unknown age, it is certainly not contemporary, eh?

It occurred to me when I first saw the pics that someone may have replaced the original wide ribbon at some point with the thin ribbon. Another point of interest is the liner tag info has the word "Zenith" at the top. Here is a thread from four years ago referring to a hat with a tag similar to this one and with a liner graphic showing three whippets, but apparently no one had much info about it.

It is indeed a very special hat. The block it was made on is not a traditional Whippet block. The brim binding seems to be a 4''' (3/8") ribbon like on the OR or Stratoliner - and the crown ribbon is also a thin one. The only thing pointing towards a Whippet is the word on the liner. It could very well be a Canadian Stetson - at least it's not what people would think of as a Whippet
