I myself have been on the search for cheap lids with potential, ever since I gave new life to the champ. Some of these vintage lids are a little to $$ for me plus it is fun to see if what you can do to a beater. Next is to find some hats that may require liner work or sweatband replacement for the right price. The No.1 looks like it needs a little TLC/cleaning? Looking forward to pics.

I'm thinking of having it cleaned, reblocked to 23-3/8" slightly LO, with the crown raised from approx. 5-1/4" to 5-1/2", thus reducing the brim from 2-3/4" to 2-1/2", and allowing the ribbon to completely cover the moth bites. Finishing it off with a diamond crease. There still won't be much money in it and it'll be my best No. 1 Quality beater!
