First, I would like to say how much I enjoyed reading this thread. Incredible hats. Hope to snag one for myself someday.
I have this coming for my wife.
Any idea as to the age. I was guessing 50s-60s? Will have more pictures in a couple days if needed.
Her first beaver hat. She’s very excited.

Keyhole tag and plastic liner tip is probably a mid-late 50's hat. Earlier would have the onion skin liner tip, and 60's hats start using the square black tag.

February 15th 1956. Blocked by Horace McDermott right after he had cold pea soup and a Vernor's ginger ale for lunch. He was still a little hungover from a combination Valentine's Day/Fat Tuesday celebration with his wife the night before.

There is a “made for” stamp on the sweatband. The gentleman was from Texas and passed away in 1965.
A well liked man, and contributer in his community according to the obit.
Kinda cool that the hat will stay in Texas.

Just came in. Can’t believe something this old could be in such great condition. Couldn’t have been worn much.
Feel like I got a pretty good deal.
I would take this all day over a new OR beaver, and at one third of the cost.

This is a recent acquisition. It's a Stetson 7X clear beaver quality hat. Western style thin ribbon. It has a 5" crown, and 2 3/4" brim with a mode edge. The color is a light tan. It's a beautiful hat very soft and pliable. It will take any pinch, bash or crease I try on it. Needs a good brushing. I have to stop buying hats. I'm trying to make space and sell a few, but then I get to browing OFAS and I see one or two that I just have to bid on.
I don't know much about this hat, I'd appreciate any info. Can anyone date it? I would like to change the ribbon too. Perhaps another thin ribbon or a ribbon smaller than 3/4". I'm not quite a do it yourself guy. I could probably sew it on, but I definately could not make the ribbon and bow. I think it would be too costly to send out for a new bow. Do you think a hatter would sell just the bow and ship it out to me? Here are a few pics.

This is the first time I’ve personally handled a ’50s quality hat. I have a Peters Bros. Bankers Special 100, and it is very nice, but the ’50s Stetson OR felt has a more luxurious feel.
