I'm going with a Wild West Saloon motif as the base for the steampunk decor - Victorian England and the Mad Max-ish post apoc thing seems more common, and I really liked Wild Wild West. The furniture will be rustic wood. The main seating area will be one king's hall style table to encourage some socialization between separate groups, but we'll have small ones for people demanding privacy. This is the plan so far.

I have this book and it is definately worth a look, at least to flip through in the store if not to buy. Sort of a Zelig thing going on; a lot of fun.
Any movie is going to be quite a task, due to the book's scope. It'll be interesting to see how it comes along: no built-in audience like Star Trek, etc...But certainly it'll have to cost as much.

Probably about as many as I unintentionally will after the combination of technology advancement and eye deterioration sees my ocular implants (basically, once my eyes no longer work replacing them with TV cameras hardwired into the optic nerves) put in... lol

Getting ServeSafe certification in a week or two. Finishing up take 3 on my Cooperative Fund New England loan package. The gist is, I'm guaranteed a loan once I make my paperwork look like what they're looking for. What's held me back is my tendency to try and do things different. Ah well. Looks like I might have a Steampunk Café before the year is out. At least everything is falling into place. Had a surprisingly useful entrepreneur seminar today, and was the furthest along in the startup process, having already legally incorporated and all. I was able to help others as much as the instructor was able to help me. I'm almost glad I made every mistake once. My only regret is having spent 700.00 on certain legal work that I could've gotten done for free. Live and learn.

as soon as I actually found myself in a situation where I had someone to lose--it could have only worked as long as my emotional "firewall" remained completely unbreached--see my comments about the Earl Harbinger character over near the end of "What Are You Reading?".

That said, limbs and other components (especially if they'll put back a few of the inches of height that look like they've been "hacked out" and can somehow have my existing tissues stretched to fit around them) are on the table... as long as my Ace of Spades can still be dealt.

Plus the fringe benefit it would bring for the "Do Not Trifle With Me" factor of my core-business... the problem is, nobody's going to hire an Executive Protection specialist who intimidates them too much, and I can see how a skeletal steel arm would be a showstopper for most gals on the dance-floor.

Hmm, i'm not so sure, if i were ever in need of an 'executive protection specialst, i would want one that looked like he could scare the bejesus out of everything, animal, vegetable or mineral thanks! And as for the steel arm, well 'that's a look'!! Perhaps i need to get out more. lol
