Star Sportswear A-2, or Aero 18775

Greetings all. I'm deciding between two different contracts for my next A-2, and I'd like to hear how they fit from those who have worn them. They are the Aero 42-18775-P, and the Star Sportswear 42-18245-P.

(There were two Star Sportswear contract numbers, which apparently were identical?)

I've read that the Star Sportswear fits trim in the waist, but that its inset and rotated sleeves make it comfortable, along with a wide upper back.

I have read the Aero 18775 described as "easy fitting." I used to wear a Bronco, and the high armholes were a turnoff for me, so I'm keen to find a more comfortable A-2.

I'm eager to hear opinions from members who are familiar with these two contracts. Much thanks.

Who are you looking to get your jackets from?
Im asking because not all makers are going to make the exact same jacket.
Slight pattern differences, details, materials...
Also depends on your body type, fit pref etc.

Generally I'd say the Star is more comfy than the Aero, but thats just me.
Mainly the wider upper back, easier arm holes and the lower neck line.

Ive owned an original 18775 and a handful of Aeroleather's Aeros...
Owned an original Bronco, currently own a Goodwear and had one AVI's Broncos
Also owned a GW Star, but it was a size larger than what I needed.
So... Yeah

The GW Star although a size larger than I'd usually wear was one of the most comfy A-2s Ive ever worn.
Also find Dubows really comfy & easy to wear.

Yeah, Star, maybe Dubow or Cable.
Consider the Cable also, very easy to wear & comfy A-2. Pattern is very forgiving, yet still has a sharp profile.
Highly recommend BK's goatskin for an A-2 (Dubow 27798 and Cable)

I have a russet goat Dubow and it's a firm favourite. Goatskin is close to WWII goat, lighter to wear and more flexible than horse.

Here's a friends Bk Star russet Liberty, just received.

Lol
Actually that pic above looks like his RW23380. Thats not the Star. Apologies.
No sweat, Brett

I'm probably leaning to the Star Sportswear, or the Dubow 27798. I have a Fivestar one of those, and the cut is quite nice, with the roomy upper arms. I would imagine I would enjoy a Bill Kelso Dubow a good deal more.

I'll be emailing them with detailed measurements. One thing I'm a stickler for is sleeve length being just right. But for a price, they will customize that.

Thank you very much for your help!
