I certainly agree that the writing has been lackluster.I watch it for Jellybean (Glen, the tracker). LOL! His character cracks me up. I actually thought there were some good plots last season and seriously, I agree regarding Spader.

Glad you like you hat! Borsalino maintained quality longer than most makes.
If your interested, I was able to remove the “Borsalino” branding in the bow keeper with just a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol. I don’t know why Borsalino uses such ostentatious branding, but at least it’s easy to remove.

Thanks for the info I personally like the branding it’s low key enough most people don’t spot it and I think it adds to the character of the hat (if that makes sense)

I just don’t like visible branding on anything that I wear. Just a personal preference.
Hello to the Fedora Lounge network,
I just wanted to make this tribute thread to the hats in the NBC TV series, The Blacklist. In this thread, I will show some of the hats that James Spader's character Raymond Reddington wore in various episodes and list comparable hats that you can buy on the market today. I've noticed that Spader mostly gravitates toward teardrop Fedoras and Panamas. So, let's start with his signature teardrop Borsalino:
This hat has a relatively stingy brim for a fedora, but I was able to find a look-alike on ebay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/BORSALINO-...6rYNCqjKnn6p-k6hg:sc:USPSPriority!11790!US!-1
For those looking for a wider brim, I've found this fedora made by UK hat maker Borges and Scott (which I own):
https://www.amazon.com/Borges-Scott-Premium-Doyle-Crushable/dp/B079TZCHML?th=1&psc=1
The Borges and Scott fedora also comes in brown:
which is comparable to this Blacklist episode:
Now, lets look into The Blacklist's panama hat array. In multiple episodes, Spader is seen wearing this hat:
As far as I can tell, this is a Signes Hats Sevilla:
which is currently sold out everywhere. Sorry. Some other panamas include this one worn twice in season 6:
Its closest relative is a Stetson Aficionado (which I also own):

Another close variant to the season 1 episode Wujing (which I unfortunately did not find a proper screenshot of), is the Stetson Inwood Hemp Fedora:

This episode also features a hat store, with two brown fedoras and one black one on the table:
The hat store clerk (Rodrick) is apparently wearing a Stetson Aficionado.
Most of the other hats worn in Blacklist episodes seem to be other color variants of the ones that I mentioned in this post. Particularly, olive teardrop felt fedoras, and different shade panamas. Just for laughs, here is the warden's hat from the prison break sketch in Season 6:
And here's the comparable Stetson Stratoliner True Blue Special Edition Fedora:

Cheers, everyone!
Yes I think all the felts were Borsalino. At least at first. But my understanding is he grew to dislike the quality. At some point they started getting customs from John Penman.
https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/penman-hats.38043/page-34#post-2374834I’ve been watching closely and have only noticed Borsalino maybe I just missed penmans ones but I’m pretty sure he has only worn Borsalino
Maybe spader personally disliked the quality but liked the style so the production company made him one as a gift and not for the show

This thread started yesterday. Today it has been merged with an older thread. But yes it has been discussed in the past. Glad to see the threads combined. If you actually go back and read this thread from the beginning, you will find this subject has already been filleted quite nicely.
I should have figured that out. This thread started yesterday. Today it has been merged with an older thread. But yes it has been discussed in the past. Glad to see the threads combined.
