There are heaps of songs that get to me that I end up being misty eyed or all out crying. I'm a romantic kind of guy so I suppose that may have something to do with it? This isn't the entire list but its what I could think of right off the top of my head.

And the song that always gets me the most is 'If I Have To Go' by Tom Waits. The lyrics from the song that get me the most are:

Those lines have a very personal meaning for me. Anyways, I've probably made myself sound like a girl in this post so I'll go now, haha.

White Cliffs of Dover and We will Meet again make me sad because it makes me think of my grandparents, and Pretty Paper by Roy Orbison, I just can't help but feel sad when I hear that song and I am not sure why, it may just be the lyrics.

The song currently on my obsession list is Mary Lou Lord's version of 1952 Vincent Black Lightning. It's an "Urban Folk" tune that she used to sing in the subways of Boston. It's on her album "City Sounds Live". The line that really gets me is: "Said James, to Red Molly there ain't nothin' in this world, like a '52 Vincent and a red headed girl!"

I've never heard his version. What I like about her is her whispery, breathy voice.

I don't have feelings, but if I did, Sting has quite a few affecting songs:
"Shape of My Heart," used to great effect in "Leon: The Professional,"
"Fields of Gold," and a song that is very special to me, "It's Probably Me," from the "Lethal Weapon 2" soundtrack.

Also, "Bonnie Portmore," by Loreen McKinnitt, or however one spells it. "Dante's Prayer," as well.

Faure's "Pavane" the version by Brandford Marsalis with a chorus in place of the strings is so sublimely beautiful.

Mozart's Requiem gives me chills each time I hear it.

Oh, and Bach's Cello Suite #1, all that pathos in so short a piece. Brilliant.

Swan Lake moves me... Any deep, bellowing classical music. I enjoy hearing sharp notes as well. That 'off' sound beckons my ear.

There is a song by Pink Martini called 'Lullaby' that is extremely haunting. The singer hums the medley in a very ribbon like echo.

Also haunting in a very gothic way, is the beginning of Air's 'Don't Be Light'... So otherworldly.

"Lonely Man" done by a British band called 'Splinter'. This one was written by the Beatles roadie Malcolm Evans after the Beatles split. Malcom
was killed in a shooting in 1976.
