Although the Rainbow Country size chart from DudsByDel says the chest width is 61cm (~24”), the Hercules style (in a 46) has historically been measured smaller than advertised. Please search past sales to see that the chest has been smaller historically. McFly in Japan and BlueWorks in Australia have a much more accurate size chart for the Hercules in my opinion.

Chest width: 23.5“

Shoulder width (from the back): 20.25”

Back length(bottom of neck hem to bottom hem): 26.25”

Sleeve length: 25.5”

Hypothetically, not that I will purchase this, but if I were so inclined to, the chest is correct, but the shoulders are an inch or two too big. Would that work or would it look off?

I think shoulder widths are meant to be a bit wider in measurement. In my opinion, it’s needed in order to drape off the shoulder correctly. Better to have a relaxed shoulder than a shoulder that’s too short. It doesn’t feel/fit properly

I'm in the market for a size 46.. I think. I'm afraid the 44 will not have the ease I need for an extra layer or be comfortable. My chest is 43" and I'm 6' tall. How's the fit on you?

My chest measures roughly 44-45" and its absolutely a trim fit, I am not as tall as you, roughly 5'9.5" & wide, like an upside down triangle with a gut lol. I can zip it up with a shetland wool hoody or thick cotton thermal, so it gets the winter pass for me being in the midwest. However the cut and fit is great for 3 season / Tshirt only. There is no possible way I could have made a 44 work haha.

Combining the flannel sleeves & the melton wool lining, it layers okay but like stated prior it is more catered to minimal layers underneath since these fabrics will eat up the internal volume slightly.

I think the 44 *might* be okay for you, these jackets are a touch long, i think they would cater to your height well since I have heard numerous people being put off at the length of Rainbow Country jackets, however the shoulder can be of note if you are like me and need to size up to accomodate broad shoulders etc.

44 might be ok. Wish there was a store to go to that had both to try on! I'm 19" in the shoulder measured on a well fitting jacket straight across. I just picked up a 44 Double Helix Deviant on Ebay and it fits ok in the shoulders.. a little room for breathing in the chest but short in the torso and sleeves. Didn't get a great price which means I'll likely lose $$$ if I decide to catch/release. I'd like to give the 46 a try at least in the Hercules. If you decide to let it go please let me know.. will give you what you paid. I'm 68 yrs old so hurry.. ain't gettin any younger. ; )
