So, is there an elegant way to put air in your tires?

...but I have never put air in my car's tires, or change anything,or check any mechanics  never,ever... I just drive the darn thing [huh]
( I do fill it up thou, that I do.:) )
I'm helpless that way.
Good for you,...I mean the part about not having to bother with all that rot. The only thing I've had to do to my car since I bought it 4 years ago was change a headlight bulb. But just because it wasn't covered under the warranty. :)
Not that I haven't or couldn't do all that, but I've just had my fill of working on cars over the years.
(As to the original question,...just wear jeans? [huh] )

I do wear jeans. But unless I wear a turtleneck there are views to be had from passers by. There's more to it, but it's a dirty and awkward thing, so maybe I'll just stop being independent and have my man do it.

Fully inflated tires will improve your gas mileage.

I've thought about offering $1 to people who ask me for money if they will check the tires or wash the windshield.

Hm, the filling stations in my area come equiped with bums who ask to wash your windshield etc, if you stop.

But there are still full service stations around, at the one by me the attendant pumped my gas even at the self serve pump.

All the same the most elegant way to put air in your tires is to stand by waiting while someone else does it.

It wouldn't work. "That's too much like work." It's like when I'm shoveling or mowing or dragging cans to curb, the beggars come up to ask for money, not to help for money in return. Does not compute.

Exactly--"will work for food," my eye. I'd just as soon keep my money. Checking my air pressure never bothered me.
