So I get this lot of vintage cufflinks and tie bars today.

Why,...that's unheard of baron. Only one pair. It's like having only one pair of shoes, or one pair of sunglasses,......

Say,....you did specifically state that you would "never BUY any more".
Maybe you will win my next contest,.....that is if I can come up with a sufficiently difficult problem for it.

Well, i do only have one pair of sunglasses. I need to get some nice ones so i can replace them ...

Believe me, there's this old lady who runs a junk store in town. She saw me wearing cuff links one day and is now obsessed with the idea that i collect cuff links. Every time the baroness comes back from that place she says the lady is collecting all the cuff links into a box for me to go through. I go up there, and every time the box is filled with horrid 50s - 80s links in what i can only describe as 'bling'. You know the kind.

When i found my current links, i shed the rest of the ones i had ...

btw: Next problem should be a Sudoku. They're really easy to solve so i should win!

When it comes to links, I'm one of the most picky! They have to be simple in design, mostly art deco with no real stones or flashy bling bling. Mother of pearl or abalone styled 20's or 30's ones are nice with tails or evening clothes... but, I wear simple silver or gold links only some times. I have a set that came in a vintage 40's dress shirt I found at a thrift shop; they were the same age of the shirt! They're made of amber and look nice!

I have maybe 5 pairs of links in my collection and they're all 20's to 40's. I hardly ever buy links because there are more ugly ones out there then good ones but, when a pair I like comes along, well, I have to buy them if the price is right.

I hear that. I like the elegant, non - flashy type too. Just like everything else in life, less is more. :)

Maybe I can find another one of these? There has to be another one out there somewhere.

Amazingly enough I found another one of these Swank tie bars on ebay for a mere $3.50,.......now, to find a willing subject for a miniature portrait. :) :) :)
