Me either. Never seen tire chains either. Why put chains on tires? Is it a jewelery thing?

We used to put chains on the car tires. My dad still uses them on the tractor. They just give traction on snow and ice. They don't do so well on asphalt though, and it's kind of a rigamole putting them on, then having to take them off once the roads get plowed or we have a thaw.

I know people use passenger car tires on their 4 wheel drive as "summer" tires.
