Interesting! Maybe if it sells well, they'll branch out and offer a fur felt Fedora? Maybe not...

I'll stick with my 1911 thanks. But this could actually be a viable option for some folks in some situations.

I think that checking your state laws might be in order. I'd bet that here in NC that hat would qualify as a concealed weapon and therefore be illegal off your own property. But I'm not a lawyer and I certainly don't play one on TV.

I seem to remember that service men (and probably other) in the past sewed heavy coins or 'slugs' into their forage caps or civilian headwear for the same purpose - darn good idea too!

Actually, it may not be that heavy. It's not lead. Though "unique impact material that is 100% the density of lead" doesn't really tell the tale of what it is.

WRT the law, the above is correct, State (and local) laws should be checked. Sap's (for example) are illegal here in Michigan. This may well be deemed one (that is essentially what it is, albeit disguised as a regular hat). I'll stick with what I know to be legal (and quite effective when properly used ). CQB.

My father told me that as a young lad in the east end of london, he'd have a flat cap with razor blades sewn into the visor, so in a brawl you could take it off and use it as a slashing weapon, I remember thinking you'd want to put it on carefully tho.....

Actually, it may not be that heavy.

Weight is given in product description as 1.8 pounds. A roll of quarters weighs about .5 pounds.
