Sizes ?

I was going to order an Open Road straw from Noggin Tops but the size chart is something I've never seen before.

Sizes list as follows: 6.875, 7.25, 7.65 and 7.75.

Their other hat styles are listed in the usual format like 7&1/2, 7&5/8 etc.

Anyone know what's up with the unusual sizes for the straw. If it was metric it would be like 60, 61 and so on - so what's this ?

I sent them an email but haven't heard back yet.

Hey Joe, Noggintops has substituted decimal values. Silly yes. 7.25 = 7 1/4, 7.75 = 7 3/4 so I figure 7.65 = 7 5/8, as it would be the next size up from 7.5 which would be 7 1/2.

Hopefully they will align their site with the normal metric or fractional sizing chart.

OK, thanks for the information.

7.25 and 7.75 I guess are easy enough but when Noggin Tops saw 6.875 as one of their sizes using this system they should have realized they were going down the wrong road with decimal values..lol

Way back when, my high school "Machine Shop" teacher required us young louts in his class to memorize the decimal equivalents in 1/8" increments. To this day, I'm probably one of the few people who can relate to 0.375", 0.625", 0.875" etc. Just remember that 0.125" equals 1/8", very useful information to hat fanciers I'm sure.

Email from Noggin Tops said that the decimal sizes on their site arose from some kind of computer error and they thought the problem had been fixed.
