I recently seeking for a budgeted M422a on QMI. But it do not provide any size chart regarding to their M422a. I emailed and asked for the size chart on their Facebook chat, but no one respond. Does any one bought their M422a and have a good fit? And any photo?

Many thanks

Hi there,
Yes, I tried one of these a while back, was not very excited. Maybe its been updated.
I will be at Duxford Airshow this weekend and if you can hold out, will go and have a look for you. QMI were there last year.
Stuffs not bad, not amazing. The A-2 (based on a Monarch I believe), was ok, but the leather was very 'cardboardy'...
Take a look at AVI's G-1, very nice. They have said they will introduce another 'winter' jacket later this year... M422a? B-3? Irvin? We don't know yet. But, IF its an M422a, and based on the G-1, that will be exciting.

Thank you sir, i am looking forward to your update. AVI G-1 55J14 is one of my consideration, but it knits seem much darker than the original one, is it historically correct to the 55J14?

I can't recommend the AVI G-1 enough, best jacket purchase of my life. The knits ARE darker and also thicker. If you don't worry about accuracy, they're fine, and sturdy. If you do, you can easily have them replaced - like I'm doing.

I also own a AVI G1 - Bretts experience made me curious - ordered 2 sizes and stayed with the larger one

I particularly like the knist - they are much stronger than the ones on historically correct G1 and M422

Yes, this jacket has darker knits... Strong and fine as they are. However, two things.
For the price of this jacket, you could, as Greg has done, swop out the knit for some accurate knit by Flight Jackets knits, he has an Ebay store. Go for the Seal. Std two ply like the A-2 if you want strong, tighter knit, or go single weave, rib rack for authenticity.
Or, hang on for a bit. I understand AVI will be updating this 55J14 jacket in the near future (later this year?). I think its getting an upgraded zipper and accurate rib-rack seal knit. Maybe drop them an email and ask.
Personally, I'd go for the AVI jackets.
