size 9 hat, no lie

today at sunbody hats we received in a custom hat for a customer who wears a size 9. We had to get it made in a size 9 1/8 and no hat block could fit this hat, so we had to shape it by hand literally. Here is a photo, enjoy.

again, this is no joke this is a real order.

In states where clothing is taxed at a lower rate does a size 9 have to be taxed as a tent or awning instead of an article of clothing?

It was be interesting to see the customer. Must be a rather large person or at least one would hope so as such a large head assumes a large body!

I wonder what size ol Andre the Giant was....

There are some races who have genetic tendencies towards larger head sizes. I know a couple of guys from Thailand who would probably wear at least a size 8 if not up to a size 8 1/2. It's not common but the same as there are 7'+ tall people there are people with size 8+ heads. I'd hate to have to buy a hat if I had that size head though. It's got to be tough.

Andre the giant definitely lives. To Art, yes tough order since are measure machine to check the size only goes to 8 1/4 so I hope it fits

That reminds me of a hat worn by a guy who goes by The King, owner of a bar in either Nashville or Memphis or something. I saw him on Drinking Made Easy and thought how huge of a straw hat he wore...
